Prof.A. VARADA RAJULU
Prof.A. VARADA RAJULU, in 1985 was appointed as Associate Professor in the Dept. of
Polymer Science in S.K.University. Since 1993, he is working as Professor of Polymer Science &
technology. The research areas of interest include Polymer Composites, Blends, Physical
Properties of Polymers and polymer Characterization. Under his guidance, 10 candidates were
awarded Ph.D degrees and 9 candidates got M.Phil degrees. So far, he has published 118
research papers in National and International journals. During the last 5 years, he published 39
research papers. He was conferred with Meritorious Teacher Award in 2003 by the Govt. of
Andhra Pradesh and Best Teacher Award by Air-India, Govt.of India in 2008. He visited Hungary,
Russia, Nepal, and China under UGC, B.P.Koirala foundation, ICTP and INSA Programmes and
carried out research work of collaboration. He is life member of Indian Society for Technical
Education and Indian Association of Physics Teachers. He has presented research papers,
Chaired sessions in International Conferences (3 times) held at China. Presently 6 scholars are
carrying out research under his guidance. He has completed Two Major Research projects and
presently carrying out Two more.

Prof. S. VENKATA NAIDU,
S. Venkata Naidu joined in the department in the year 1985 as an Assistant Professor and became
Professor with effect from Aug 1998. He worked as Head of the Department for 5 years and
Chairman BOS for 6 years. Presently he is the Co-Ordinator for UGC SAP Programme. The research
areas of interest includes, Natural fiber reinforced composites, blends, microbial degradation of
polymers. He also worked as Registrar of the University for three years. He was nominated as a
Peer Team Member in the NAAC for various colleges. He was also nominated as a Member in X
and XI plan Visiting Committees by UGC for various Universities like Swami Dayananda University,
Haryana, Patna University, Bihar, Jamia Millia Islamia a Central University, New Delhi. He is a life
member in the various academic bodies.

During the last 5 years he has published 20 research papers in both National and International

Prof. N. SUBBARAMI REDDY, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. N. Subbarami Reddy joined in the Department of Polymer Science & Technology as Lecturer in the
Year 1985 and Promoted to Associate Professor in 1994 and as Professor in 2004. His research interests
are in the areas of i) Degradation and Stabilization of Polymers. ii) Development of Polymer
Nanocomposites. Additionally he has also contributed to the area of “Development of Analytical methods
for the Estimation of Micronutrients of Agricultural Importance”. He has completed two Major Research
Projects funded by UGC and BRNS. He has published 26 papers and presented 25 papers in National
and International Conferences and Seminars. He served as Head of the Dept .of Polymer Science and
Technology and currently he is the Chairman, Board of studies in Polymer Science & Technology. He
extended his service to work as Deputy Warden of University Hostels and as N.S.S. Programme Officer.
He was course Co-Ordinator to conduct Refresher Course in Polymer Science in 2001. He has good
exposure to the Industrial Environment both in India and abroad. He guided five Ph.D candidates
including one Visiting Fellow from Nigeria

Prof. K. CHOWDOJI RAO, M.Sc., Ph.D.,
Dr. Chodoji Rao obtained his M. Sc., Degree from S.V. University Tirupati in 1976 and Ph.D Degree
in Chemistry from S.K.University, Anantapur in 1985. He joined as Asst. Professor in S.K.University,
Anantapur in 1987. His areas of research include thermodynamic study of solution, polymer
surfactant nitration studies, polymer blend solution studies, polymer membranes and their application
in pervaporation studies. He has 60 Journals papers and 65 International / National conference
papers to his credit. He has guided 4 M.Phils and 8 Ph.D scholars and presently guiding 8 Ph.D
scholars. He has completed 2 UGC Major Research Project and has one ongoing UGC Major Research
Project. He is a member of several academic bodies. He served the University in different capacities
as Warden, Head and Chairmen, Board of Studies of the department. He is the Best Teacher Awarded
of the Govt of Andhra Pradesh for the year 2007. He was awarded Visiting Fellowship to work in U.K
during 1994-95 and visited USA in connection with international conference in 2008. He was
awarded INSA Fellowship and UGC Visiting Fellowship to work at Karnataka University. Dharwad and
IIT New Delhi respectively .At present he is holding the position of Dean, UGC affairs of S.K

Prof. K. MOHANA RAJU, M.Sc., Ph.D,
K. Mohana Raju got his M.Sc., Degree in Chemistry in the year 1975 Under S.V.University. He worked as
CSIR, JRF and SRF and got his Ph.D; Degree in Organic Chemistry in the year 1981 under S.K.University.
Later he worked as CSIR, PDF and CSIR Pool Officer for about two and half years. He entered into the
Department of Polymer Science & Technology as Assistant Professor in February 1985. He was promoted
to the post of Associate Professor under Merit Promotion Scheme in September 1996 and then Promoted
as Professor Under Career Advancement Scheme in September 2004. He has rich teaching and research
experience from 1976 onwards starting with CSIR JRF till today as Professor. His research fields of interest
are Kinetics of polymerization, Polymer Synthesis, Superabsorbent Polymers, Hydrogels for Drug Delivery
systems, Stimuli Responsive Polymers, Polymer Metal Nanocomposites, Hydrogels Embedded
Nanoparticles and Magnetic Nanoparticles. He has published so far 98 papers in National and
International Journals having High Impact Factors, out of which 40 papers are published in the last Five
years almost all in American Journals. He presentated 62 papers in National and International
Conferences. He completed Four Major Research Projects and One is ongoing with a Total worth of Rs
40.63 Lakhs funded by DST, UGC, ARMREB and DRDO. Two of his Research Papers were selected in the
Top 25 Articles of the International Journal and One as Most Viewed Article. He is a Reviewer for more
than Ten International Polymer and Other Journals. He guided so far 5 Ph.Ds, 4 M.Phils and presently
13 Scholars are working with him as Full-Time and Part-Time Scholars from various Industries. He
conducted Three Seminars as President of SKU Polymer Alumni Association (SKUPAA). Apart from his
academic work he served the University as Career Guidance & Placement Officer, Warden of SK
University Hostels, Dean of P. G. Examinations and also served in many Committees as Member and also
as Convenor and made successful in Conducting the Convocations of the University, Cultural Activities
and in SKUCET Examinations. Presently he is working as Head of the Department of Polymer Science &
Technology. After taking over as Head he arranged M.Sc; Projects to 15 students and arranged stipend
to 10 students for six months.
