				Silver Jubilee Celebrations
On 27th July 2006 the University will be completing the Silver Jubilee of its distinguished service to the cause of education in the region. It is hoped that the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, will inaugurate the celebrations. The Silver Jubilee has given the University to re-prioritize its growth targets and development logistics being started in 2006-07.  Post Silver Jubilee Aspirations & Initiatives :  To mark the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the University proposed to create Silver Jubilee Commemorative Infrastructural facilities and is geared up to initiate the following activities in near future. a)  University College of Engineering :The University is starting an  Engineering College from the academic year 2006-07 for which the Government has accorded permission. Two Courses namely, CSE and Biotechnology are proposed to be started from this year with a possible inclusion of ECE course for which the permission is sought. b) 21st Century Gurukulam : The proposed Gurukulam to train 2 students from each Mandal in the University’s jurisdiction will be started in 2007-2008. An entirely self-contained campus initiated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to be run on the lines of Sainik Schools.   With the Engineering College and the 21st Century Gurukulam, a technology-empowered campus will be ushered in. c) Strengthening the existing faculties in all the activities like Teaching, Research, extension and infrastructural facilities d) Establishment of an Academic Staff College e)  Starting of a University College of Pharmacy f)  Setting up of Jawahar Knowledge centres g) Establishment of Technology Incubation centres in association with industries h) Setting up of Human Resource Development centre i)  Starting of need based courses in tune with the 21st century requirements j)  Establishment of Software and Hard ware Technology Parks Call for contributions: Inorder to realize these aspirations, the University is hopeful and highly optimistic in obtaining the necessary support for funding for a massive educational uplift and contribution to a knowledge society.
