Appeal for Contributions
Established in the year 1981 in the most backward region of Andhra Pradesh (India), Sri Krishnadevaraya University has envisaged its growth in terms of promoting equity and access, relevance, quality and accountability to redeem the irredeemable backwardness of the region through a massive educational uplift, which alone offers the key to social change and economic emancipation. The University has thus grown steadily through the various plan periods, optimally utilizing the development and research grants of the various funding agencies, the UGC and the State Government, following the prescribed institutional priorities. The University has the distinction of offering different conventional and advanced professional courses with the lowest fee compared to all other Universities in the state.
Considering the financial constraints, the University has initiated steps to attract contributions from different sections of the society. Donations to the University are exempted from Income Tax under Section 80(G) of the Income Tax Act. With the result the University has raised nearly of Rs. 3.50 Crores, which is being judiciously utilized to augment basic essential academic infrastructure.
Contributions are called for, from the philanthropists, industrialists, alumni and other society conscious elite group of donors, who are primarily interested in the development of the region and willing to contribute back to the society in a most befitting manner. The names and details will be prominently displayed on the University Website and the blocks/buildings will be suitably named after them. Contributions can be made in the form of a Cheque/DD on any Bank drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Sri Krishnadevaraya University” payable at Anantapur, A.P. India.
